We are spending the weekend at Kiboko Bay Resort, a small tented resort on the shores of Lake Victoria, near the city of Kisumu, about 3 hours drive from Eldoret. Lake Victoria is the second largest freshwater lake in the world. (Lake Superior is, well, superior.) Most of the lake is in Uganda and Tanzania, with just a bit in Kenya. Lake Victoria is the source of the great Nile River, traveling north from here all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.
