Typically we are in Kenya this time of year, at MTRH (hospital) in Eldoret with a team of friends... who happen to be nurses and surgeons. But because of an ongoing doctors strike, we cancelled this year's trip. And if anyone happening to read this thinks the idea of doctors going on strike is a terrible thing to do, I encourage you to research the issues on the internet before jumping to such a conclusion.
So We find ourselves feeling a bit melancholy, missing our Kenyan friends and American colleagues this year. We miss you all!
But I love the analogy that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. So with our scheduled time off work, we are vacationing at a wonderful resort near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It's a pretty tasty lemonade.
